Benefits

The tent is fully sealed from bugs and draughts
The tents are easier to pitch
The groundsheet covers the entire floor plan of the tent so you have the option to remove an inner if You require more storage space for example

Drawbacks

Any water that enters the tent is difficult to remove
Doorways all have step overs
Condensation is increased

Benefits

More ventilation as the tent is not fully sealed
Any water that enters the tent can be easily removed
The groundsheet can be rolled back to expose the grass
Tents with this feature are lower cost

Drawbacks

Tent is not fully sealed so its possible for bugs or moisture to enter the tent
The tents are slightly more difficult to pitch as they dont have a fixed base
There is no groundsheet under the inner tents so they may be colder
